EPV Courses
Under Rule 58 of the Rules for National Schools, teachers are entitled to Extra Personal Vacation (EPV) on foot of attending approved summer courses.

EPV courses typically open for registration in the spring, once they are approved by the Department of Education.
Many Oideas Gael courses are recognized by the Irish Department of Education under Rule 58 for in-service training and extra personal leave (known as EPV or Extra Personal Vacation). Our course calendar always indicates clearly which courses qualify for this. If you want to claim EPV days, make sure to register for a course that qualifies! Oideas Gael will issue you a certificate of attendance at the end of your course.
